Jacquard ribbons, decorative ribbons, Aida ribbons
Ribbons intended originally for the adornment of folk costumes. They are produced in the widths from 10 to 100 mm, in one-coloured or multicoloured execution. The classical materials are cotton with viscose and plastic metal fibres; recently, polyester fibres are employed as well. Nowadays, they serve also for the decoration of common clothing, underwear, household textiles, toys and souvenirs.
This product group also includes the ribbons intended for embroidery. As a rule, these are cotton ribbons in canvas weave. They are manufactured in white colour or in light shades. Usually, the ribbons are completely plain, or at the most, with selvedges decorated with simple patterns or even inscriptions. They serve for the adornment of e.g. table cloths, spreads and light furnishing fabrics.
